Scholarships

The Henry County Community Foundation has the privilege of facilitating several area scholarships.  These scholarship funds are a part of the Henry County Community Foundation and have been established by local families in honor and memory of loved ones. A portion of the interest monies earned on these funds that is returned to the community in the form of scholarship opportunities.

If you have an interest in applying for any of the scholarships listed below, please contact your local high school guidance department.  (Some scholarships are specific to the identified high school.) The Henry County Community Foundation only facilitates the financial aspect of these scholarships.  It is the area school guidance counselors who have the scholarship applications, specific criteria details,  and coordinate the selection committees.

Frederick H. Germann Memorial Scholarship

The purpose of the Frederick H. Germann Memorial Scholarship is to provide post-secondary education scholarships. It is anticipated that one new scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00 will be awarded but the amount may increase as funds allow. Any Henry County high school graduate who is entering their sophomore year of college, pursuing post-secondary education in engineering may apply. (not open to current high school seniors).

Grace N. Cox and Betty Lou Moose 4-H Scholarship

The purpose of the Grace N. Cox and Betty Lou Moose 4-H Scholarship is to provide post-secondary educationscholarships. It is anticipated that one new scholarship in the amount of $1,000.00 will be awarded in the spring.

Henry and Angeline Van Poppel Scholarship

The purpose of the Henry and Angeline Van Poppel Scholarship is to provide post-secondary education scholarships for graduating high school seniors who are residents of Henry County, OH planning to pursue studies in the field of general agriculture or a related/closely related field – such as agribusiness, agricultural economics, agronomy, animal science, veterinary medicine, biotechnology, crop and weed sciences, etc.

Kevin R. Schwiebert Memorial Scholarship

The purpose of the Kevin R. Schwiebert Memorial Scholarship is to provide post-secondary education scholarships. It is anticipated that one new scholarship in the amount of $500.00 will be awarded but the amount may increase as funds allow.  Any Henry County high school graduate who is pursuing post-secondary education may apply (need not be a current senior).

Kim W. Beck Memorial Scholarship

The family of Kim W Beck established this memorial scholarship in his memory, to provide post-secondary education scholarships. Multiple scholarships will be awarded. The minimum amount awarded will be $1,000. The maximum amount will be based on funds available.  Any graduating Napoleon High School senior or Napoleon High School graduate who is pursuing post-secondary undergraduate or graduate education may apply. An individual may be an annual recipient a maximum total of four times throughout his or her undergraduate or graduate educational career.

Kline Family Catholic Scholarship

The purpose of the Kline Family Catholic Scholarship Fund is to provide financial support to a Henry-County, Ohio high school graduate pursuing the completion of a degree in higher education. It is anticipated that at least one scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be annually awarded. Any Henry County, Ohio, high school graduate, who is enrolled in or beyond the sophomore year, and pursuing post-secondary education in a Catholic college or university, may apply. This award is not open to current high school seniors.

Marcus MtCastle Memorial Scholarship

The purpose of the Marcus MtCastle Memorial Scholarship is to provide post-secondary education scholarships for graduating high school seniors from Napoleon High School planning to pursue studies in the fine arts. (visual and performing arts, music education, etc.)

Morley’s Field Scholarship

The purpose of the Morley’s Field Scholarship Fund is to provide post-secondary education scholarships. It is anticipated that 5 new scholarship in the amount of $600.00 will be awarded but the amount may increase as funds allow.  Any Napoleon High School graduate that participated in Football, Cheerleading or Band and who is pursuing post-secondary education may apply.

The purpose of the Stan Cox Memorial Scholarship is to provide post-secondary education scholarships for graduating high school seniors who are students at Bryan High School, in Bryan, OH planning to pursue studies in the field of Education. It is anticipated that one new $1,000 scholarship will be awarded.

Xavier and Aidan Wensink Memorial Scholarship

The Xavier and Aidan Wensink Scholarship fund was created in their memory to ensure their legacy lives on through student excellence. Xavier and Aidan Wensink were two brothers who shared a deep bond. Although two years separated them, they leaned on each other in every endeavor.
